The Challenge

The Problem Every EV Site Faces

Installing multiple EV chargers at a single site creates a power management challenge that most operators don't anticipate — until it's too late.

Without Load Management

  • All chargers draw maximum power simultaneously — instantly exceeding the site's grid connection limit
  • Circuit breakers trip, cutting power to the entire site — including the building
  • You are forced to install fewer chargers than you need — or pay for expensive grid upgrades
  • Peak demand charges spike — your electricity bill increases dramatically
  • No visibility into which charger is consuming how much power at any given moment
  • Manual intervention required every time a power issue occurs — no automation

With EarthtronEV Load Management

  • Power is dynamically distributed across all chargers — total load never exceeds your grid limit
  • Zero circuit breaker trips — the system automatically prevents overload before it happens
  • Install 30–50% more chargers on the same grid connection — no infrastructure upgrade needed
  • Peak demand is smoothed — your electricity bill stays predictable and controlled
  • Real-time power dashboard — see exactly how much each charger is drawing, live
  • Fully automated — the system rebalances every 5 seconds with zero human intervention
Features

Intelligent Power Control, Built In

Every EarthtronEV charger comes with load management built into the CSMS — no additional hardware required.

Dynamic Power Allocation

Available power is continuously redistributed across all active chargers every 5 seconds. When a vehicle finishes charging, its power is instantly reallocated to other chargers — maximising throughput.

Grid Limit Protection

Set your site's maximum grid capacity once. The system guarantees total load never exceeds this limit — regardless of how many chargers are active simultaneously. Zero overloads, guaranteed.

Building Load Integration

The system monitors your building's existing power consumption in real time and adjusts charger output accordingly — ensuring EV charging never competes with your building's critical loads.

Priority Charging Rules

Define priority rules — VIP vehicles, emergency fleets, or specific chargers always get maximum power first. Lower-priority chargers receive remaining capacity. Fully configurable from the CSMS.

Time-of-Use Scheduling

Schedule charging windows to align with off-peak electricity tariff periods. The system automatically shifts charging load to cheaper hours — reducing your energy costs without any manual intervention.

Real-Time Power Dashboard

Live visualisation of power consumption across every charger and the building — updated every 5 seconds. Historical load curves, peak demand analysis, and energy cost reports all in one dashboard.

Solar & Renewable Integration

Integrate with on-site solar or renewable energy sources. The system prioritises renewable energy for EV charging and adjusts grid draw dynamically based on solar generation output.

Overload Alerts & Notifications

Instant alerts if load approaches the configured limit — via email, SMS, or in-app push. Configurable warning thresholds at 80%, 90%, and 95% of grid capacity for proactive management.

Works With All EarthtronEV Chargers

Load management is built into every EarthtronEV AC and DC charger — from 3.3kW AC wall chargers to 480kW ultra-fast DC units. No additional hardware, no third-party controllers required.

How It Works

Smart Power in 5 Seconds

The EarthtronEV Load Management System runs a continuous 5-second cycle — sensing, calculating, and rebalancing power across your entire site automatically.

1

Sense — Read All Power Meters

Every 5 seconds, the CSMS reads the current power draw from every active charger and the building's main meter via real-time IoT sensors.

2

Calculate — Available Headroom

The system calculates the remaining available power headroom: Grid Limit minus Building Load minus Current Charger Load = Available for redistribution.

3

Prioritise — Apply Rules

Priority rules are applied — VIP vehicles, fleet schedules, and time-of-use tariff windows determine which chargers receive more power and which are throttled.

4

Rebalance — Send New Power Limits

New power limits are sent to each charger via OCPP commands. Chargers adjust their output within milliseconds — the driver notices nothing except a faster charge.

5

Report — Log & Alert

Every rebalancing event is logged. If load approaches the configured limit, alerts are sent. Full historical load curves are available in the CSMS dashboard.
